Road Science supply superior road and pavement solutions throughout New Zealand. To ensure the successful installation of the largest heated bitumen tank in Australasia they turned to Stack Electrical because their expertise and more than 10 years’ experience in this field.
Our solution
Stack Electrical supplied the works to repurpose an oil tank for transition to bitumen storage, it was the largest electrically heated bitumen in Australasia with a storage capacity of 5M litre, included a new switchboard room and control cabinets. Stack Electricals’ scope included:
- Cabling between sites, run through intermediate site – 100m run
- Installation of new mains to site.
- Street transformer kiosk upgrade.
- Control work and heating elements.
Stack Electrical were also responsible for full commissioning and handover of the installation, to Road Sciences complete satisfaction
Road Science was recently very proud to commission the largest electrically heated bitumen tank in Australasia. The bitumen tank is a repurposed oil tank, and took the team 18 months to convert. It has five million litres of storage for the substance that shapes New Zealand’s roads and pavements. A key to the successful outcome was Stack Electrical whose team performed an outstanding task.
